About 35% of the hair comes from the mane, and 65% from the tail, giving a nice balance to the brush. The hair is taken only while the animals are being groomed. No horse is ever harmed from the hair retrieval process and Vie-Long is proud of their ethical processes. The red injection molded acrylic handle looks more like a precious stone than resin. This ergonomic handle has a squared off shape with slight indentations on each side for easy grip and a unique style versus the standard circular handle shape.
