Sapphire nail files are made of elastic, dimensionally-stable spring steel. The tip is usually shaped as a nail cleaner and the edges of the sapphire files are carefully ground after sapphire coating in order to obtain smooth edges without grains. This prevents injuries to the nail bed. One side is coarse for forming the nails, while the other side is fine. Genuinely chrome-plated with polished edges. The handle has an integrated cuticle pusher.
